If you are interested in a great, potato-based breakfast that isn't even remotely healthy, keep reading...

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Frying pan
  • 2 brown baking potatoes (russet potatoes I believe)
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1 spatchula
  • 1 cup of canola oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • paper towels
  • ketchup
  1. Step 1

Begin by thoroughly washing the potatoes. Get all the dirt off. You do not want to peel the skin off, so cleaning them is important.

  2. Step 2

Dice both potatoes into small cubes (roughly cubic centimeters).

  3. Step 3

Chop up 1/2 of a red onion.

  4. Step 4

Heat up the frying pan and add 1 cup of canola oil. Place all of the potatoes in and cover the pan for two minutes. The steam allows the potatoes to cook faster at first.

  5. Step 5

Remove the frying pan lid and stir the potatoes. After another minute, add the onions and continue stirring.

  6. Step 6

Continue with this until the potatoes begin to get crispy. At this point, you'll want to start with your taste tests. I prefer mine crispy to slightly burnt.

  7. Step 7

After the potatoes are done cooking, put them on a plate and absorb the excess canola oil with paper towels.

  8. Step 8

Add salt and pepper and serve with ketchup. Then repeat the process. I know you'll want to!

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't undercook the potatoes. There is nothing worse than undercooked, crunchy potatoes!
