How to Do A Coleman Slide On A Skateboard

So you wanna learn how to slide? The sliding scene is getting more popular every day. Here are some steps to learn how to do the famous Coleman slide right footed. You have to reverse the directions if you're goofy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sliding skateboard
  • Sliding gloves

Step1
First of all you gotta scope out a fairly smooth hill with not a lot of traffic.
Step2
Start down the hill in the normal skateboarding position.
Step3
Squat down and place a fair amount of your weight on your left hand that you've place behind you. This unweights the board.
Step4
Shift your legs and feet over to the left and your board should swing you into a goofy footed position.
Step5
Next you want to shift your legs and feet over to the right side and slowly bring yourself back up to your normal riding position.
Step6
Taa-dah! You've just performed a Colman slide.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use your right hand to help swing your body around. Use it for direction and balance.
  • If this is your first time, make sure you wear all your skateboard pads. You may end up getting narly concrete burn.
