Style and humor is the beat of this gig-make it a uniform theme where mechanics, pilots, cheerleaders, waitresses and pilots all have the same job-having fun...Strippers shouldn't be the only ones who get to masquerade as police officers and firemen right?...No one shall be turned away! Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Reserve the space. Check with bars and clubs to see if they'll let your group exclusively hang in a room or the club for the night. If you guarantee a certain number of guests there is often no additional fee because they'll be selling cocktails to your crew all night. Or your place is always a good location; you'll be getting' the rep of "the cool house" on the street.

Get your peeps there. Send out an e-vite to let everyone in on the event. Write something like, "It's time to access your inner professional. Come dressed in a uniform and play hookey. We're expecting one set of village people, a football player, a few maids and wenches and some police officers to regulate it all! Please keep the school girls to a minimum. Prizes will be awarded for most original uniform, and to the person who stays in character throughout the night."

Don't worry about décor. At this party the guests are the eye candy. Expect a ton of crazy uniforms showing up that will be much more interesting to look at than a floral centerpiece. Focus on the interaction, food and beverage elements instead.

    • 4

Ask a beefcake friend to dress up as a bouncer and give everyone a stamp as they enter, and ummm maybe a frisk a shady looking person here and there-hey it's his job!

    • 5

Feature specialty cocktails named after uniform related titles like, "Somebody Call a Doctor," "Excuse Me Officer," and "Kiss the Milkman". Set them up as cocktail stations with the shot recipe, ingredients, and supplies ready for guests to make their own drinks. Scatter them around the space so everyone has to commute from their parking spot in order to try every drink and keep the party moving.

Create a makeshift polling booth for voting on most original uniform, and whoever stayed in character longest. Stock it with ballots, pens, paper and boxes to place the votes in (use an old shoe box covered with wrapping and a slit cut in the tops).

Go classic with the prizes: trophies, ribbons (a black ribbon would be cool), medals and those huge belts boxers get when they win. Make it an annual tradition and invite the winners back year after year to defend their titles.
