   Doing your research before hand will give you the inside scoop on what your job position pays and it will give you the confidence to back-up your request. Don't compare with other employees are making- this will put your boss on the defensive as it is not appropriate to discuss salaries with co-workers.

3. * Dress for Success
   Whether your job allows for jeans and a t-shirt or dressy suits, always look appropriate at work. You want to look "pulled together" and "stylish." You want to stand out in your company with your work ethic and dedication to the company- not your crazy big hair or funky outfits.

4. * Have A Plan "B"
   You may not be able to get more "$$$" out of your boss at this time so be prepared to ask for other "perks." Many companies can offer more vacation days, flex-hours, or health-care benefits. Ask "Can you recommend anything else I can do to put me on track for that raise in the future?"
