on 12/7/2008 There is a much easier way. First, remove all of the gunky wax with a spoon or butter knife. Then, put a layer of paper towels in your kitchen sink to absorb the wax so that it doesn't go down the drain. Run your hot water as hot as it will get (or as hot as you can stand). Take a long handled, soft bristle brush (or old tootbrush) and carefully rotate the votive under the hot water and gently scrub around the edges. Your votives will be crystal clear.

on 4/19/2008 Or you can place the votives in the freezer for about an hour. I sometimes score the wax and it pops right out. To clean the wax residue off the votive holders use hand sanitizer. This works great. The glass will just sparkle when you are finished.
