Tired of a slow skateboard? Find it getting harder to push yourself around? You have a case of dirty bearings. I'll show you the easiest way to speed up your skateboard.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Triflow lube
  • Skate tool
  • Lint free cloths
  1. Step 1

First you'll want to use your skate tool to take off your wheels.

  2. Step 2

Next, you'll use your skate tool to take out your bearings from each wheel. Refer to How to remove skateboard bearings if you have trouble.

  3. Step 3

Grab an individual bearing and put a ton of Triflow inside on both sides. You'll want to flood the bearing with lube. You're essentially washing your bearings with this stuff.

  4. Step 4

Let the Triflow soak into your bearing for a few minutes.

  5. Step 5

Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the rest of your bearings.

  6. Step 6

Once you've completed flooding your bearings with Triflow, grab your lint free cloths and wrap a bearing inside. Shake it well. Once you open the cloth you'll see a bunch a dirt and grim. Repeat this step for the rest of your bearings.

  7. Step 7

After you are done "shaking" your bearings lay them out on a clean cloth for a couple of hours before you put them back in your wheels. This allows for the excess Triflow to drain out.

Tips & Warnings
  • You'll find Triflow at your local bicycle shop.
  • This may get a little messy so don't clean your bearings on your mom's nice carpet. Try using the garage.
  • Double check to make sure excess Triflow is out of your bearings. This stuff will attract more dirt if there is too much in your bearings.
