Things You'll Need:
- A Bulletin Board
-
Step 1
Place the bulletin board in the kitchen. We all know this is the busiest location in the entire house.
-
Step 2
Designate sections for each family member. If you have school-age kids, use the school district’s calendar as the focal point of the board.
-
Step 3
For each child include space for:
• Awards and special praise from teachers
• Lunch receipts to track when it’s time to refill their lunch accounts
• Weekly tests such as spelling review words
• Library notices to avoid late returns
• After-school activities such as practice and game schedules
• Long-term school projects -
Step 4
Designate spaces for Mom & Dad:
• Library notices to avoid late returns
• Non-routine bills for example annual car-tag renewals -
Step 5
Design a Family space:
• As mentioned earlier use the school district’s calendar to track school closures, early dismissals, and appointments.
• Post school newsletters
• School contact information for late-arrivals and absences
• Doctors’ business cards -
Step 6
To reduce clutter purge the bulletin board every 2 months.
