Work out late at night and want to make sure you get enough protein to help muscle grow while you sleep? Make this delicious recipe and you will be good to go

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blender
  • Water
  • Ice
  • Whey Protein
  • Milk
  • Peanut Butter
  1. Step 1

Take a blender and put 4 or 5 ice cubes in it

  2. Step 2

Pour 8 ounces of milk into the blender. Keep in mind that generally milk higher in fat has more protein.

  3. Step 3

Add 1 teaspoon of peanut butter to the blender. I recommend natural peanut butter as it has no sugar or trans fat

  4. Step 4

Add 1 scoop of protein to your mix. Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Protein is a great tasting and economical choice. The chocolate flavor tastes great with the peanut butter

  5. Step 5

Blend together for 10-15 seconds, then serve and enjoy

Tips & Warnings
  • Use water instead of milk if you are not about to go to bed or just finished working out as it will absorb into your muscles faster
  • Drink too much of this and you will look like Arnold!

on 10/6/2008 Try casein protein instead of whey protein when you consume protein before bed. Whey is fast digesting while casein is a slow digesting protein which will allow your muscles to get the protein it needs while you sleep.
