Beef Stew Recipe

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive or Canola Oil\
  • 2 LBS Beef Cut Into 1 ½ in. Cubes
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 4 Cups Boiling Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Worcesterchire Sauce
  • ½ Teaspoon Pepper
  • ½ Teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 to 2 Bay Leaves
  • Dash of Allspice
  • 6 Carrots
  • 6 Potatoes
  • Green Beans
  • ½ Cup Cold Water & ½ Cup Flour
  1. Step 1

    In a Dutch oven, heat oil, add beef and brown on all sides (approx. 20 minutes). Add onion, garlic, boiling water and all other ingredients.

  2. Step 2

    Cover and simmer for 2 hours (DO NOT BOIL).

  3. Step 3

    After two hours, mix ½ cup cold water and ½ cup flour and add to boiling stew to thicken.

  4. Step 4

    * Dumplings
    * 2 Cups Bisquick
    * 2/3 Cup Milk
    *
    Mix Bisquick and milk together and drop spoonfuls onto boiling stew (Approx. 8 to 10 dumplings). Cook covered for 10 minutes. Uncover and place in 375 degree oven for 7 minutes and then broil for 2 to 3 minutes until dumplings are golden brown.
