remove candle wax from carpet, clothing or other fabric

This is a quick and easy way to remove spilled candle wax from carpets and other fabric without damaging the material.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Heat iron on to low* setting (make sure the steam setting is OFF).

  2. Step 2

Take several sheets of paper towel (at least two or three) and put over the top of the wax.

  3. Step 3

Iron the paper towels, (just as you would a delicate fabric) gently moving the iron in small side-to-side motions.

  4. Step 4

Replace the paper towels as needed until the wax has been absorbed.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you've spilled colored wax, remove the wax from the carpet before you attempt to remove any color stain. Once you've removed the wax, use an oxy-based cleaner (pet and odor stain remover works well) to remove the color stain. Depending upon the stain, hydrogen peroxide works as well.
  • To ensure your safety as well as the best results, make sure that you use a LOW heat setting.

on 5/21/2009 This does work, but you have to be patient. It was necessary to do this over and over again until my wax was gone.
