Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Schedule the event for the summer so you and your family can enjoy their entire stay.
Step2
You pay for everything including airfare! This was perfect for my father in-law who had never flown before.
Step3
You and your spouse agree how long the visit will last, then plan the itinerary. My In-Laws stayed 4 days, perfect!
Step4
When planning your wonderful weekend keep your guests in mind. Remember nothing too strenuous or too slow dependent upon their health and personalities.
Step5
Our theme was transportation which included planes, boats, double-decker buses, and limousines. Create a schedule for each day which includes meals and activities.
Step6
Day One:
When do you want them to arrive, morning, afternoon or evening?
Upon arrival what do you want to do, was it a long flight?
Maybe the first day keep it simple and just enjoy the remainder of the day with family and great food.
Step7
Day Two:
Have a scheduled activity planned. We took the clipper to Vancouver and hit the tourist spots which included a double-decker bus tour of the city, visiting the famous gardens, and finishing with High-Tea at the city’s most beautiful hotel.
Step8
Day Three:
We had lunch at a wonderful restaurant on the pier and afterwards their tour guide of our city.
Step9
Day Four:
After a fantastic breakfast, the limo arrived and off to the airport we went.

on 7/16/2008 Sounds like fun, but you don't want to make it sooooo much fun that they will want to live closer. ; )

on 5/25/2008 This is ridiculous. Most people couldn't afford something like this and it sounds like bribery to me. Your in-laws should accept you for who you are, not by how much money you spend on them.
