Make festive margaritas

The margarita has deteriorated terribly over the past ten years and is often made too sweet in bars and other establishments. Modern margaritas have too much mixer and not enough tequila and lime. Read on to learn how to make a truly great margarita.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tequila
  • Cointreau
  • Fresh limes
  • Salt
  • Some funky margarita glasses
  1. Step 1

Select a premium brand tequila. I suggest either Don Julio Cointreau or Silver Patron.

  2. Step 2

Pour your premium tequila in a shaker with some crushed ice. You will be doing this quickly so the ice does not dilute the margarita.

  3. Step 3

Add a shot of premium triple sec. I suggest Cointreau.

  4. Step 4

Add 2-3 fresh limes. Make sure to squeeze them directly into the shaker with the tequila, triple sec and ice.

  5. Step 5

Add a shot of orange juice and shake it vigorously for about 30 seconds.

  6. Step 6

Take a funky margarita glass, dip it in water, dip it in salt, and add ice.

  7. Step 7

Pour the margarita from the shaker into the glass and ENJOY!

Tips & Warnings
  • Drink at least one margarita a day.
  • Don't drink and drive.
