How to Make Cherry Simplicity in a Dutch Oven

This is a simple and tasty dessert, that anyone can make in a Dutch oven.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 30 oz. Cherry pie filling
  • White or yellow cake mix
  • 16 oz. Cherry Coke
  • 10 inch Dutch Oven
  • Charcoal
  1. Step 1

    Heat Dutch oven to 350, with 14 briquettes on top and 7 briquettes underneath.

  2. Step 2

    Remove lid of Dutch oven

  3. Step 3

    Empty can of cherries into Dutch oven.

  4. Step 4

    Sprinkle cake mix on top of filling. Break up clumps of cake mix.

  5. Step 5

    Pour Cherry Coke over ingredients.

  6. Step 6

    Place lid on Dutch oven and check in 35 minutes

  7. Step 7

    The number of briquettes may be on the low side.

Tips & Warnings
  • You do not need to mix this dessert. As the CO2 in the Cherry Coke is released it will cause the mixing.
  • Do not double this recipe, it will not mix properly.
