How to Make Puffy Paints

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Poster Paints
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Salt
  • Salt
  • Glass Bowl
  • Measuring Cups
  • Pastry Bags
  • Wire Whisks
  • Glass Bowl
  • Tempera Paints
  • Salt
  • Salt
  • Measuring cups
  1. Step 1

    Mix 1/2 c. flour, 1/4 c. salt and 1/4 c. warm water in a stain-proof glass or metal bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Add 2 tbsp. tempera or poster paint and mix well with a wire whisk.

  3. Step 3

    Spoon the mixture into a pastry tube with a decorative tip.

  4. Step 4

    Draw your designs.

  5. Step 5

    Allow the paint to dry overnight.

Tips & Warnings
  • Unless you need a lot of one color, mix half of the base with 1 tbsp. of one color, and half of the base with another color.
  • This paint isn't like the soft puffy paints you buy at craft stores; it dries hard and just looks puffy.
