How to Make Puffy Paints

You'll love the texture of this easy and cheap addition to kids' craft time.

Things You'll Need

• Poster Paints
• All-purpose Flour
• Salt
• Glass Bowl
• Measuring Cups
• Pastry Bags
• Wire Whisks
• Tempera Paints
• Measuring cups

Instructions

1. Mix 1/2 c. flour, 1/4 c. salt and 1/4 c. warm water in a stain-proof glass or metal bowl.

2. Add 2 tbsp. tempera or poster paint and mix well with a wire whisk.

3. Spoon the mixture into a pastry tube with a decorative tip.

4. Draw your designs.

5. Allow the paint to dry overnight.

Tips & Warnings

• Unless you need a lot of one color, mix half of the base with 1 tbsp. of one color, and half of the base with another color.

• This paint isn't like the soft puffy paints you buy at craft stores; it dries hard and just looks puffy.
