This cocktail is perfect for the Champagne lover who enjoys a little extra excitement. Whether or not your guests appreciate the slight deviation from the most decadent drink around, you'll be sure to get plenty of oohs and aahs when the drinks get poured. Show off your spontaneity, dance to Prince and watch it bubble.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Champagne
  • blue food coloring
  • red food coloring
  • Groceries
  • Champagne Flutes
  • CDs
  1. Step 1

Decide how many people you'll ask to join in the excitement of your cocktail hour.

  2. Step 2

Purchase enough Champagne for your guests, along with blue and red food coloring. It's important to buy Champagne that tastes acceptable to you, since you won't be changing its flavor.

  3. Step 3

Open the bottle of Champagne (see Related eHows) and begin to fantasize about taking your first sip.

  4. Step 4

Listen to your favorite Prince song as you squeeze three blue drops and four red drops of food coloring into the open Champagne bottle.

  5. Step 5

Turn the bottle from side to side gently to let the food coloring disperse throughout. The liquid will slowly turn purple.

  6. Step 6

Pour the Champagne into glass or plastic Champagne flutes. Pass them around to guests, drink as you would any cocktail and/or use it as a fun opportunity for toasting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try making individually colored drinks so as not to color the entire bottle of Champagne. Simply drop food coloring into the glass of Champagne after it has been poured.
  • Plan an entire Champagne cocktail theme party where Champagne is the only drink you serve - but it comes in different colors and must be "ordered" by the name you decide to give it.

on 11/22/2005 If you can see through it, you can color it! Try the same with white grape juice (fizzy or still!) and with your favorite clear fizzy soft drink.

Oh! And it works with milk, too!
