How to Make a Jeans Quilt
Recycling is the word of the day. Here's a great way to get some use from those ratty old jeans you just can't seem to throw away.

Things You'll Need
- Denim Jeans
- Batting
- Fabric For Backing
- Quilt Frame
- Quilting Needles
- Quilting Threads
- Sewing Machine
- Straight Pins
- Scissors
- Flannel Cloth
- Rotary Cutters

Cut sections from old jeans and denim shirts or jackets.

Use your favorite quilt blocks or just cut the pieces into same-size squares.

Add some flannel or bandanna sections for extra color.

Sew each piece to the next one, forming the quilt top.

Cut and sew on a durable, cotton-blend fabric or flannel backing.

Fill the quilt with polyester batting.

Finish the quilt by tying, or quilt in a hoop or quilt frame.

Tips & Warnings
Sew the pieces right-side together with a half-inch seam so they don't fray.
Don't forget to add pockets, neat appliqués and zippers to your one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Great idea - poor instructions. You don't fill the quilt with batting - you do that with pillows. You layer the quilt, batting and backing. Denim jeans are heavy - you sometimes don't use batting at all or use a flannel as a lightweight batting. Dollie Buss -
