  • Crochet Thread
  • Knitting Needles
  • Yarns
  • Internet Access

Step1
Choose the search engine you like to use on the Web and type in "mile-a-minute patterns" or "mile-a-minute afghans."
Step2
Refine your search to look for a specific type such as a baby, crochet or knitting mile-a-minute pattern.
Step3
Go to your local library and search the crochet books. Usually, books with a title such as quick and easy patterns or afghans are the best place to begin.
Step4
Check with your friends and co-workers for any patterns they may have.
Step5
Join a crochet/knitting Web ring or chat room for patterns on the Web and book recommendations.
Step6
Design your own pattern. The idea is to make strips of a pattern and then join them with a border.

on 11/22/2005 I sometimes find it difficult to follow the directions given for a specific design. So what I do is use the follow-the-pictures technique. Then, most of the time, I can figure out just how to make it. If all else fails, I call Mom.
