How to Create a Play in Madden NFL 2000

Creating your own plays in Madden NFL 2000 is one of the features that truly immerse you in the game. While creating an effective play takes a certain amount of football know-how, even rookies can have fun putting the plays of their dreams into motion.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Turn on your PlayStation with Madden NFL 2000 in the CD tray.

  2. Step 2

    Select the Profiles menu from the main menu.

  3. Step 3

    Select your profile or create a new one.

  4. Step 4

    Return to the main menu.

  5. Step 5

    Select the Play Editor from the main menu.

  6. Step 6

    Select to create either an offensive or defensive play.

  7. Step 7

    Choose which players you want to execute which commands.

  8. Step 8

    Save your plays and exit the Play Editor.

  9. Step 9

    Begin a game and select the profile that you saved your plays under.

  10. Step 10

    Select your plays from the section of the playbook labeled Custom Plays.

Tips & Warnings
  • On defense, a strong pass defense is key, so try to work out of the nickel or dime package.
  • Often a linebacker blitzing between two linemen can penetrate the offensive line with ease.
  • On offense, the most effective weapon is the screen pass. Try to form a play out of the shotgun formation in which all but two or three of the linemen pull block for the running back on a quick pop pass.
