Tips & Warnings
  • Upon beginning your franchise, attempt to trade for last year's top draft picks and sign them to the longest contracts possible.
  • A key to maintaining your franchise is to keep a constant circulation of young players. After about 12 seasons, players' stats begin declining, and you should think about trading them.
  • If you have very low draft picks and if you're a winning franchise, don't bother with the college draft. Simply trade your current picks for hot rookie prospects in their second season.
  • The sign and trade is an incredibly effective method of bolstering your roster. During the free-agent period, sign as many of the best players as possible. Keep their contracts as short as you can to minimize money spent. Then simply trade them away for players that you truly want.
  • You can perform trades only up to the seventh week of the season.
  • Save often. One second's neglect can ruin a whole evening's work.
