Step 1
Look at your special talents or abilities and share them with 4-H.

Call the local cooperative extension office to find the 4-H club in your area, or look under your state heading at 4h-usa.org.

Attend a couple of meetings to see where your expertise could be used.

Become a certified volunteer or leader. Each state or county has different guidelines for becoming a volunteer.

Step 5
Volunteer to be a project leader. A project leader works with a group of members who are enrolled in the same project such as sewing, cooking, an animal project or any one of the numerous 4-H projects.

Step 6
Volunteer to be an activity leader. An activity leader works with a group of members participating in a 4-H activity such as community involvement, conservation or a safety activity.

Step 7
Volunteer to be an organization leader. This is the person who coordinates the overall club program and the activities of members and other leaders and is the club's link between the county extension staff and the 4-H and youth council.

Commit your time and talents to 4-H.

on 11/22/2005 The four "H"s in 4-H stand for head, heart, hands and health. You don't have to live on a farm to join and benefit from 4-H. You can live anywhere. You just have to be 5 years old or older.
