What better way to promote 4-H in your area than to have a fun and interesting meeting.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Plan your meeting, materials and activities several weeks in advance.

  2. Step 2

Use guest speakers to get a special message across to your members. Check with the local college about student speakers or activities such as a workshop on the environment. Some colleges or universities may have a small traveling display to go along with your topic.

  3. Step 3

Talk to parents about volunteering to host a special meeting or workshop on a project. This is a good way to introduce a new project to your club.

  4. Step 4

Use visual aids, hands-on activities or crafts when possible at your meeting.

  5. Step 5

Set up early at the meeting site if you are having a special activity.

  6. Step 6

Begin with the correct meeting procedure - the reading of the minutes, the pledge ...

  7. Step 7

Save time at the end of the meeting for a question-and-answer session, especially if you have a guest speaker.

  8. Step 8

Remind members of any upcoming activities, forms or entries due.

Tips & Warnings
  • A club meeting is also a fun way to work on projects to enter in the county fair.
  • Stay within the allotted time so parents won't have to sit and wait to pick up their children.
