Check with your child's school about 4-H meetings.

  2. Step 2

Call your local county extension office - look under "County Government" in the telephone book.

  3. Step 3

Visit the 4h-usa.org, the official 4-H youth site, to find a club in your area.

  4. Step 4

Talk to the 4-H leader or volunteers in your local club about being a volunteer or a project or activity leader.

Enroll your children in 4-H. This can be done anytime throughout the year at a 4-H meeting.

  8. Step 8

Make a commitment to 4-H by being an active member or volunteer.

Tips & Warnings
  • If there isn't a 4-H club in your area, talk to your county extension office about starting a local club.

on 11/22/2005 4-H is a wonderful experience for anyone. I started when I was nine. I didn't know anything about 4-H, but I thought it would be fun. Now I am fifteen, and very active in 4-H. I am the president of our 4-H club, and I attend many statewide 4-H events. It is a very good experience for anyone. I encourage you to join!
