How to Draw a Rectangle with Rounded Corners

Don't see a round-cornered rectangle tool in Photoshop? Here's the answer...

Instructions

1. Open Photoshop 5.5 and create a new image file measuring 300 by 300

2. pixels.

3. Set the resolution to 72 pixels per inch and the mode to RGB color.

4. Select the Rectangular Marquee tool and drag it on the canvas to the desired size.

5. From the Select menu, choose Modify and Smooth. Enter 16 and click OK.

6. Choose a foreground color. Select the Paintbucket tool and click in the selection.

Tips & Warnings

• For softer corners, apply a 1-pixel feather to your selection.
• For smaller corners, choose a number less than 16.
