On a hot summer day, it's hard to get people moving. This relay, however, offers a chance to cool off - if the participants don't mind getting wet!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Prepare for this relay by using a nail to punch five to eight holes in one coffee can for each team.
Step2
Spray paint each can a different color.
Step3
Fill a large container such as a clean plastic garbage can with water. Put this container at the far end of the relay.
Step4
Put a 5-gallon bucket for each team at the starting point.
Step5
Divide everyone into teams with the same number of people.
Step6
Give each team a can. Each player must run to the container full of water, fill his or her can, and run back to the next person, who dumps the water into the bucket, then repeats the race.
Step7
Award a prize to the first team to fill its bucket.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cover any sharp edges with duct tape or file them down.
