Step1
Decide who you'll invite to the picnic.
Step2
Design teddy bear-themed invitations by hand or with a computer program. Indicate that each invitee must bring a favorite teddy bear.
Step3
Send or hand-deliver the invitations to your guests.
Step4
Find a tablecloth or blanket to spread on the ground under a tree. A red-and-white checkered cloth is classic. You can also find teddy bear print fabric that works well.
Step5
Set places for each guest and teddy. Use a child's china tea set for the teddies and plastic plates and cups for the humans.
Step6
Collect wildflowers for a centerpiece and display them in the middle of the picnic cloth.
Step7
Make or buy cupcakes decorated with bears, or bake some bear-shaped cookies.
Step8
Mix up some lemonade or other beverage.
Step9
Create party favors. Doll clothes or hats make nice gifts for the teddies. Small throw pillows in teddy bear prints make lovely gifts for the humans.
Step10
Pick out a story about bears to read at the picnic.
Step11
Give prizes for the oldest bear, silliest bear, fanciest bear and so on. Be sure that each teddy will win a prize.
Step12
Plan a craft project such as making bear puppets by gluing bear cutouts on Popsicle sticks.
Step13
Welcome your guests and their bears when they arrive, and show them where to sit.
Step14
Pay a proper amount of attention to the bears since the picnic is for them, after all.
Step15
Play the song "The Teddy Bear's Picnic" and sing along.

Tips & Warnings

  • Plan this picnic just for your family or invite some of your child's friends.
