  • Candleholders
  • Candlesticks
  • Clean Rags
  • Taper Candles
  • Clean Rags
  • Small Coffee Cans
  • Milk Containers
  • tall, white pillar candles
  1. Step 1

Save family celebration candles throughout the year - the used birthday candles, the tapers used at Thanksgiving, etc.

  2. Step 2

Use a clean wax-coated gallon milk container. Trim off the top.

  3. Step 3

Glue a white pillar candle in the middle of the container. Use a candle that is about as tall as the container.

  4. Step 4

Separate the candles by color and melt them in small coffee cans at a low temperature.

  5. Step 5

Pour some of the melted wax over the white candle. Wait until it's cool; then pour again and wait.

  6. Step 6

Cover the cooled candle with cloth and store it in a safe place for the next year.

  7. Step 7

Save your family remembrance candle for a very special occasion - perhaps your 25th or 50th anniversary. Peel away the container and enjoy your masterpiece.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful of the hot, melted wax. Do not leave it unattended while melting it.
