Step 1
Choose a topic for your book if you don't already have one. Brainstorm. What are your interests? In what is your expertise? Write down any ideas that come to you.
-
Step 2
Select one idea and create an outline of your proposed book.
-
Step 3
Do research to strengthen your book's points and theme. Delve deep and go to where the information is: libraries, Internet search engines, web sites, personal interviews.

on 9/24/2009 My understanding, from the research I have done thus far, suggest that writing an eBook is somewhat different from writing a novel. Most of what I have read, encourages the novice writer to keep it simple. Judging from the eBooks I have read; most appear to be more like a book report, in comparison to a full length book, ranging from 3000 to 4000 words. I am currently in the process of writing my first eBook. I think the hardest part was choosing the subject, researching and organizing it. I have developed an easy method of organizing, and producing all types of writings, such as magazine articles, short stories, and including full length novels. As a matter of fact that is what I am my eBook is about. One thing I found out, like many of you have mentioned; is that being diligent, is a must!!

on 5/23/2008 Nah that's much too brief, with all due respect. A lot more research to be done, and most of it right here on the Internet. -Larry Fike
