Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Download and install the latest version of RealJukebox (visit Real.com). Be sure to download the free version.

  2. Step 2

    Double-click the RealJukebox icon.

  3. Step 3

Insert a CD into your computer and the program will start playing and recording immediately. To change this auto-play setting, halt the player by clicking the Stop control (the button with a little square on it) in the RealJukebox window. Then select Preferences under the Options menu. Click the General tab and deselect the desired actions in the "Inserting a CD" box.

  4. Step 4

Be sure your Internet connection is active if you want RealJukebox to download the album, artist and song names and apply them to the CD you've just inserted.

  5. Step 5

Know that your music will by default be saved on your C: drive in a folder called MyMusic.

  6. Step 6

Remove the CD and use RealJukebox to play music directly from your hard drive.

  7. Step 7

Change the way your music files are named by clicking the Naming tab in Preferences.

  8. Step 8

Select the order in which you want the names displayed. For example, if you intend to group your music files by album, it might be helpful to maintain the track order. Songs will be listed in alphabetical order, with numbers alphabetized ahead of letters.

  9. Step 9

Click the pop-up windows as follows: Track Number; Track Name; Album; Artist.

Tips & Warnings
  • During installation, RealJukebox tries its darnedest to become the player for every type of music that might possibly find its way into your PC. If this is OK with you, just click Next through the installer. If not, you can click Advanced and select the specific file types you want RealJukebox to manage.
