How to Create an Internet Radio Station

Live365 is a Web site that allows users to create and listen to Internet radio stations created by other users. There is a vast selection of music there, and if you become a member (free!) you can add your own music mix to the collection for other users to hear.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Access
  • Web Browsers
  1. Step 1

    Assemble your play list in a folder on your local hard drive. Tunes must be saved as MP3s at a bit rate slower than 56K.

  2. Step 2

    Tune your browser to Live365.com.

  3. Step 3

    Follow the "Sign Up" link and navigate your way through the brief sign-up process.

  4. Step 4

    Go back to the home page and click "Create Your Own Broadcast." (You may have to pay a fee, but there's usually a free trial available.)

  5. Step 5

    Decide whether you want to pre-record your broadcast and have it looped at Live365 or if you want to broadcast live.

  6. Step 6

    Follow the on-screen instructions for the upload method you choose.

  7. Step 7

    Broadcast your groove to the world!

Tips & Warnings
  • By creating your MP3s at a bit rate less than 56K, you allow users with dial-up Internet connections to hear your radio station.
