Contact your State Banking Authority. Each state-chartered bank is regulated and supervised by that state's Banking Authority.

Call a local state chartered bank and get the phone number and address for the department in your state.

Get a hold of the Department of Treasury in Washington, D.C. They will have a list of agencies and organizations that list unclaimed funds for each state.

  5. Step 5

Look up "Unclaimed Funds" on the Internet. Most states have websites for unclaimed funds and property.
