on 7/21/2009 Great article! I hope this works around pools. We can't even enjoy an afternoon swim for fighting these things!

on 9/2/2006 If you know there is a nest under your porch of eaves ( anywhere that you cannot get to), position your vacuum cleaner hose beside the entrance hole (about 90ยบ angle) that the wasps are using, and let it run for a couple of hours. Any wasp that goes in or out will be sucked up. Most nests are finished with just two active day sessions. Works great.

on 7/20/2006 Smirnoff (Red Label) is a great trap for yellow jackets. Just leave a bottle (neck area completely empty) where the yellow jackets are. They love the citrus scent and are willing to die for it. Once inside the bottle they can't find their way back out. They will fill the bottle in just a few days. Found this out by accident when a bottle was left out on my deck. Three days later it was full of yellow jackets.
