How to Help a Toddler Make a Festive Holiday Fruit Bowl

The holidays are a great time to help your child develop his or her artistic talents and create fun crafts projects.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fake fruit
  • Glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Glitter
  • Wax Paper
  • Wax paper
  • Crushed potpourri
  • Bowls
  • Bowls
  1. Step 1

    Get some plastic or Styrofoam fruit from a crafts store or dime/dollar store.

  2. Step 2

    Coat the entire fruit ' except for the stem ' with tacky glue, using a small paintbrush (you will need to do this for your child).

  3. Step 3

    Let your child hold the fruits by the stem and dip them into metallic glitter, confetti or crushed potpourri, then lay them on a sheet of waxed paper to dry.

  4. Step 4

    Arrange the pretty fruits in a bowl when the glue has set.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take photographs of your children's handiwork. This will give you ' and them ' a permanent record of their early artistic efforts.
  • Watch out for small objects that could be choking hazards, and always supervise your children's craftwork.
