on 11/22/2005 Crochet an extra-tough dog chew if you have two dogs or puppies who like to compete for control of it. Use two strands together of worsted weight, and an H hook or close to that size. Make a rectangle that's at least 6" long and wide enough for two sets of teeth.

This is helpful in keeping dogs from biting each other or fighting too wildly -- they love to play tug-of-war.

Amazingly, this toy stays in one piece for a long time, too!
