May 5 is Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo isn't the celebration of Mexican independence, as many people think. It commemorates the victory by Mexican troops over the French at La Batalla de Puebla (1862). It stands for Mexican patriotism and unity.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Mail your cards out well before Cinco de Mayo to be sure they get there on time.

  2. Step 2

    Look for pretty cards or make your own for your friends and family.

  3. Step 3

    Decorate homemade cards with geometic designs and fun Mexican graphics.

  4. Step 4

    Buy paper Cinco de Mayo greeting cards at places like Sparks.com, Hallmark, Current and American Greetings.
