A vacation scrapbook will help you record the details and fun memories of your trip so you'll always hold on to them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Maps
  • Aleene's Tacky Glue
  • Acid-free Scrapbooks
  • Photo Corners
  • Scrapbooks
  • Acid-free Ink Pens
  • Acid-free Papers
  • Clip Art CD-ROMs
  • Stickers
  • Maps
  1. Step 1

Purchase an acid-free scrapbook to fill with vacation memories before you go on your trip.

  2. Step 2

Take photos that will help you remember the places you visited.

  3. Step 3

Collect items that will fit in the scrapbook. Postcards, brochures, ticket stubs, sections of maps, matchbook covers, souvenirs and receipts all can be included in a scrapbook.

  4. Step 4

Decide if you are going to organize your scrapbook chronologically, geographically or just any way that strikes you.

  5. Step 5

Plan out each page before attaching anything to the page.

  6. Step 6

Find some clip art or drawings, or create some printed descriptions to add to your scrapbook to make it more appealing to the eye.

  7. Step 7

Consider attaching a small section of a map as a background to each page to show where the pictures and other mementos are from.

  8. Step 8

Think about starting the scrapbook with a map on which you have traced your entire route.

  9. Step 9

Decorate the cover of your scrapbook so that it ties in with your trip. You might use a postcard of the city you visited or write the names of all the places you stopped across the cover. You could also use a photo collage of your trip.

  10. Step 10

Write some narrative to go with each section of the book. Describe where you went, what you did and any memorable things that happened. Include the typed words on the pages.

  11. Step 11

Include the whole family in creating the book if possible. You could have each family member write a short description of his or her favorite part of the trip.

on 11/22/2005 Crop (cut) off your photo to eliminate the unnecessary background and make your subject more visible. It can make a far-away subject seem closer. Lapping one picture over another picture is neat, too.

on 11/22/2005 Regular 3-ring binders are great for scrapbooking. Clear fronts allow you to put in pictures on the cover. Just punch your holes and add colorful paper and clip art pages. Be creative.
