on 5/17/2009 I must agree a handwritten note is still the best. In this computer age we still love to think someone thought about us enough to sit down and write a note.

on 7/28/2007 A suggestion for gifts.
Many of us don't want any more picture frames, vases, etc. Another way to show your love is doing something meaningful in a friend's name.
A new nonprofit website, www.ChangingThePresent.org makes it more rewarding and easier than ever. You can choose exactly what you want to accomplish: preserve an acre of the rainforest, provide books for children, fund an hour of cancer research, or sponsor cataract surgery to make a blind person see. The site already offers thousands of tangible donation opportunities from hundreds of leading nonprofits, so you’re sure to find something that moves you.
Wish lists and registries let us share our passions with others and ensure the perfect gift. Beautiful, personalized greeting cards include a photo and description of the gift you gave.

on 8/8/2006 Scan a group picture of the birthday girl/boy with the gift giver and insert it into a card creator software. Write a personal birthday note inside, date it, and sign. If software is not available for this idea, the group picture can still be photo copied on quality paper (either black and white or colored). Trim off the excess paper around the copied photo. Your birthday message can be written, dated, and signed behind the photo.

on 11/22/2005 It was said best when Hallmark wrote it, so why not borrow their words?
1) Buy the card that says just the right thing.
2) Buy the blank card that you will give.
3) Hand-write the perfect message in your best handwriting (tip: change a few words or add words, names etc. so it is genuinely yours).
