Pimples can't be prevented without a routine skin care regimen.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Wash face 2-3 times daily.

  2. Step 2

Use a gentle, water-soluble cleanser and tepid water.

  3. Step 3

Apply a medicated cream, such as benzoyl peroxide, to potential problem areas.

  4. Step 4

    Use non-comedogenic moisturizers and makeup.

  5. Step 5

Avoid overmoisturizing the skin. Use the lightest-weight moisturizer necessary.

  6. Step 6

Use a mud mask once a week to clean out pores.

  7. Step 7

Try a medicated refining mask that cleanses and corrects problem skin.

  8. Step 8

Wash makeup brushes and sponges frequently to minimize dirt and bacteria.

Tips & Warnings
  • Athletic activities and exposure to greasy environments, such as fast-food establishments, contribute to acne.
  • Drink plenty of water to flush out impurities.
  • Keep hands and hair away from face.
  • Using too many medicated products may dry out skin.

on 2/23/2009 One thing you need to watch out for with benzoyl peroxide is that it bleaches fabric. I bought a new bedset for out bed, my husband uses clearasil. After a few days, I realized his side of the bed the pillowcases, sheets, comforter were completely bleached. We have also had towels in the bathroom get bleached as well from it being on his hands/face. The belzoyl peroxide is really strong, and bleaches stuff, watch out for that!
