Step 1
Decide why you want to visit a chat room, and choose ones geared to your needs. You may want some conversation, to make friends or to find a long-term relationship.
-
Step 2
Try out several different chat rooms run by different organizations to find ones that share your values.
-
Step 3
Look around at gay sites, even if you don't consider yourself gay. Lots of bi stuff is housed on gay-run sites.
-
Step 4
Take a look at the bisexual community on PlanetOut.com. Click on the People tab, then select the Bi section.
-
Step 5
Consider subscribing to America Online if you're serious about meeting people. It has a lot of built-in features that make communicating with others easy.
-
Step 6
Get some of America Online's interactive features without subscribing by downloading AOL Instant Messenger from AOL's Web site (aim.com). Then go back to the site and follow the chat links.
-
Step 7
Ask people in the chat rooms, once you're there, to suggest more obscure chat rooms that are tailored to your specific reasons for wanting to chat.
-
Step 8
Get serious only with those that share your values. Remember that the bisexual community is diverse - some bi people are married and have relationships with people of the same sex on the side, while others may have been monogamous with people of both sexes at different times.

on 4/13/2007 If you access bisexual sites, please be respectful. I don't like being hit on by gay guys looking for action, especially when on a site specifically geared toward bisexual guys. While I understand the feelings of gay people in the world, I also understand that bisexual people need a safe place to go to meet others. A place where they don't have the extra worry of dealing with gays who don't appreciate (or even accept) the bisexual lifestyle.

on 11/22/2005 If you access "gay" sites, please be respectful. I don't like being "hit on" by "bi" guys looking for action, especially when their girlfriends or wives aren't included in the information. While I understand the dilemma of bisexual people in the world, I also understand that gay people need a safe place where they don't have the extra worry of "significant others" to deal with.
