Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide if you want to stay at a place close to home or if you'd rather go farther away.

  2. Step 2

Discuss with your traveling companion, if you have one, whether you want to go where you find the best deal or the nicest place - or if you prefer to choose the city first, then see what's available.

  3. Step 3

Begin your search online at Rainbow Destinations (guesthouses.net). It lists gay-owned and gay-friendly establishments that welcome you.

  4. Step 4

Take a look at Queery.com's list of gay-friendly accommodations.

  5. Step 5

Visit GayScape.com and see if you can find what you're looking for. From the home page, choose "Accommodations," "Bed and Breakfast Inns" and "Guest Houses."

  6. Step 6

Let the folks at Out & About help you. Visit outandabout.com for help on your search.

  7. Step 7

Go to Damron Online (damron.com), the Web site for a company that publishes all sorts of gay and lesbian guidebooks. It probably sells a book that will help you, and its list of links is pretty good, too.

  8. Step 8

Remember to check with friends and ask them for referrals. Your friends can often give you the best advice.

Tips & Warnings
  • Damron guides are available in many mainstream bookstores, if you prefer to search in print rather than on the Web. Fodor and other companies publish gay and lesbian travel guides, too.
