Things You'll Need:
- 1 3/4 c. Essencia (or other sweet dessert wine)
- 2 1/2 c. pink grapefruit juice - freshly squeezed
- 1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1 tbsp. grenadine syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp. pink grapefruit peel - grated

Step 1
Boil 1 c. wine in a small, heavy saucepan until it has reduced to 1/4 c.

Pour the wine into a large bowl.

Add the grapefruit juice, sugar, corn syrup, grenadine and peel.

Stir until the sugar has dissolved.

Step 5
Mix in the remaining 3/4 c. wine.

Step 6
Refrigerate the mixture until cold.

Step 7
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.

Keep frozen in a covered container.
