How to Make Strawberry Sorbet
Lighter than strawberry ice cream but at least as flavorful. Makes about 1 qt. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 2 qts. strawberries
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice - freshly squeezed
- Groceries
- Blenders
- Citrus Reamer
- Ice Cream Makers
- Plastic Food Containers
- Saucepans
- Strainers
- Plastic food containers
Instructions

Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes until a syrup forms.

Add the strawberries and lemon juice to the syrup.

Puree the mixture in a blender.

Strain the mixture with a fine strainer. Press on the solids to extract as much juice as possible.

Put the mixture in an ice cream maker and freeze.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have an ice cream maker, you can freeze the sorbet in a covered container. Stir every half-hour so the mixture doesn't freeze into a solid block.

Don't let the sorbet sit in the freezer for 2 days and expect it to be a sorbet. Stir every 1/2 hour. -
