How to Bob for Ice Cubes

Play this game outside on a hot day to cool off and entertain the kids.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

1. Play this game with children ages 6 and up.

2. Freeze some large ice cubes, using plastic cups or bowls. Make sure that the ice cubes will be thin enough so that children can get their teeth on part of them.

3. Fill a large tub with cold water and place it on a table outside.

4. Place the ice cubes in the tub, reserving some to use as replacements.

5. Allow one player to go at a time.

6. Instruct the player that he or she must capture as many ice cubes as possible one at a time in 1 minute, using only the mouth.

7. Announce when the minute is up and let a new player begin.

8. Keep track of how many ice cubes each child collects.

9. Watch the ice cubes in the tub carefully and replace them with fresh ones when they become small enough to present a choking hazard.

10. Declare as the winner the child who has captured the most ice cubes.
