Instructions

  1. Using One Object

      Create two objects.

      With the Selection tool, select the object that is to be used as a cookie cutter.

      Drag this object so that it is touching or overlapping the object to be cut.

      From the Object menu, click Path and then Slice. The top piece cuts its image into the bottom object.

    Splitting a Line

      Create an object, then select it with the Selection tool.

      Select the Scissors tool to activate it.

    • 7

      Click on the point or anchor where you want to split the line.

      Click on the Selection tool, then drag the split line or object to its new location.

Tips & Warnings

  • The object must be ungrouped to use the slice command.

  • To toggle between the Scissors tool and the Knife tool, use the Alt key (Windows) or the Option key (Mac)
