Sometimes the cue ball ends up too close to another ball to allow you to use your normal bridge. In this case, you must use this modified bridge technique.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Billiard Lighting
  • Bridges For Pool
  • Cue Stick Chalk
  • Pool Balls
  • Pool Cue Carrying Cases
  • Pool Cues
  • Pool Table Covers

Step1
Put your fingertips down next to the ball you are hitting over.
Step2
Press down and roll your fingertips forward, so your nails are on the table.
Step3
Lift your wrist up.
Step4
Raise your thumb up so that the joint is about even with your knuckles.
Step5
Lay the cue in the crease formed by your thumb and knuckle.
Step6
Hold the butt of the cue as low as is feasible when hitting (your tendency will be to hold it high) to avoid hitting down on the cue ball.
Step7
Be sure your hand position is firm, and stroke lightly.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you hit only the cue ball. Otherwise your shot is a scratch.
