on 11/22/2005 All states require that boxing trainers be licensed as "seconds" or managers. Ask to see the trainer's license before training for the first time. If he/she is not licensed, this fact should be reported to the state boxing commission, as the trainer has either been disciplined by the commission, or is so incompetent that he/she could not pass the requirements and therefore should not be training boxers. Training boxers without a license is often a crime.
