If you have a gardener or kids in your family, chances are you've got grass stains in your laundry! Never fear - you can probably get them out with these easy steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Apply an enzyme pre-soak product or a teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent directly onto the stain.

  2. Step 2

Rub the product vigorously into the stain and launder as usual.

  3. Step 3

If the stain doesn't come out, refrain from putting the garment in the dryer, which can set the stain.

  4. Step 4

Sponge the stained area with rubbing alcohol, removing as much of the stain as possible. Launder as usual.

  5. Step 5

If the stain still persists, again refrain from putting the garment in the dryer.

  6. Step 6

Treat with chlorine bleach if the fabric will tolerate it; otherwise, treat with color-safe bleach.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before trying any method outlined here, test a small, inconspicuous area of the garment to make sure it won't be damaged.

on 1/29/2007 I use this tip from Marthastewart.com: Treat area with a dry solvent in a well-ventilated room. Press with cheesecloth; tamp with a soft-bristled brush. Repeat to remove as much pigment as possible. Flush area with isopropyl alcohol, tamp, and then let dry. Follow up with an enzyme detergent to remove reidue before washing.

on 8/8/2006 Little brother's or sister's think it's cute to put gum in your hair. Well, here's an easy way to get it out.

Spread some peanut butter on that wad of gum and work it through until the gum comes out of your hair.

on 11/22/2005 Spray Windex window cleaner on the stain before laundering. Lightly scrub window cleaner into fabric with an old toothbrush. Launder with regular detergent. If heavily stained, repeat process again before drying garnment.
