Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Glitter Makeup
- Body Glitters
- Lip Gloss
- Shimmery Powders
Step1
Take a moment to consider the look you'd like to achieve. Do you want to add sparkle to your face or shimmer to your body? Most products are face or body specific.
Step2
Consider the color of your makeup and the color of your outfit when selecting a shade. Gold complements a warmer complexion, while silver works best on cool-toned complexions. Match colored glitter to hues in your makeup and clothing.
Step3
Complete your makeup before applying glitter to your face. Using a very small amount of glitter, dab it gently near the eyes, just above the lash tips or at the outer corners of the eyes.
Step4
Get dressed before applying body glitter. Your choices will range between glitter powders, gels and lotions.
Step5
Focus on exposed skin, such as the chest, back, lower legs and tops of the feet. Place a small amount of the product in your hands and distribute a thin layer over the area you want to cover. Apply the glitter to your body using smooth, consistent strokes.
Step6
Enlist the help of a friend to access hard-to-reach places.

on 10/13/2006 I use the AMAZING glitters at www.eyekandyglitter. They come in 48 colors, and the adhesive is a DREAM. The prices are really good as well--much cheaper than MAC, and last over 8 hours on.

on 8/8/2006 There are cosmetic grade glitters out there that are for the skin. They are specially coated for use in makeup applications. Craft glitters are made from metal and glass, and should not me used on the skin, especially around the eyes. The cosmetic glitters cost a little more, but they last a long time and it is better to be safe than sorry. Most of the companies that sell them also sell some sort of product that is made to apply the glitter. I would suggest going with this if you love the glitter look.

on 3/16/2006 A great cheap highlighter I have found is from Wet N Wild called All Over Shimmer and it is comparable to higher-end products (it is hard to find but it so cheap and beautiful on the face and body).
Jergen's Shimmer lotion works well for the body, but make sure you apply it in natural light or you may look like Mr. Robot!

on 3/21/2006 Take your ordinary hair spray and spray the desired area. Then apply glitter with a brush or your hands. For example, if you want to apply glitter to your shoulders; lightly spray your shoulders with hair spray. Then take a brush or use your hands and dust your shoulders with the loose glitter. Spray very lightly a little more hair spray to really hold glitter.

on 11/22/2005 Apply glitzy white or platinum liner to your eyes. I recommend "Gives me the chills" by Mabelline Cooling Effects cooling shadow and eyeliner. It looks so cool in blacklight clubs and it's glittery.
NOTE: Since the suggested liner has a fat tip, smudge it into a shadow or very very lightly put it on as a thin liner.
