How to Tat a Josephine Ring

The Josephine Ring is also known as the Josephine Knot and Josephine Picot.

• Embroidery Scissors
• Tatting Needles
• Tatting Shuttles
• Tatting Thread
• Beeswax
• Bobbins
• Crochet Hooks
• Fabric Stiffeners
• Sewing Needles
• Tapestry Needles
• Threads
• Scissors
• Scissors

1. Make the Josephine Knot or Ring by repeatedly making either the first half of the double stitch or the second half of the double stitch - not the complete double stitch.

2. Make a series of six or eight half-stitches.

3. Close the ring tightly. It will form a knotlike stitch.

Tips & Warnings

• Josephine Rings normally don't contain picots.
