The ring is a basic "stitch" for delicate tatting work.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make a series of double stitches.

  2. Step 2

Slip the work off your left hand.

  3. Step 3

Pull the shuttle thread gently to close the ring. Pull the thread until the stitches meet completely and the ring is closed.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the ring won't close (if the stitches won't slide), there's a stitch somewhere in the ring whose loop was not transferred properly. You'll need to remove the knot before the ring will close.
