There's nothing like homemade bread. Now you can have it without all the fuss and mess associated with the way our grandmothers made it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Read the manufacturer's directions carefully.

  2. Step 2

Measure all of the ingredients accurately.

  3. Step 3

Put all of the ingredients in the bread pan. Liquids go in first and yeast goes in last.

  4. Step 4

Put the bread pan in the machine and program the appropriate cycle.

  5. Step 5

Use oven mitts to remove the bread pan from a hot bread maker.

  6. Step 6

Shake the bread pan upside down to release the bread.

  7. Step 7

Let the bread cool before slicing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check the dough ball halfway through the first kneading cycle. Because of differences in humidity, you may need to add water or flour to adjust the amount of moisture. The ball should be just a little tacky, smooth and soft.
  • Unplug the bread maker to clean it.

on 12/27/2007 Some machines have a kneading paddle which may become stuck inside the loaf if you bake it in the machine. Check to be sure this paddle has been removed from the cooled bread.
